Robert W. Levin, MD

 

Dr. Levin is the immediate past President of the Florida Society of Rheumatology. He has achieved several educational milestones, including a B.A. Degree in Chemistry with Honors from Oberlin College in Ohio and a Doctor of Medicine from Hahnemann University in Pennsylvania. Subsequently, Dr. Levin completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine as well as his Rheumatology fellowship at the Medical College of Pennsylvania. Dr. Levin’s scholarly background also includes experience as an Instructor of Medicine for the Medical College of Pennsylvania before beginning his Rheumatology practice in 1989.

During his career, Dr. Levin has written for several publications and presented numerous lectures relating to his rheumatology specialties in osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, NSAIDS, COX II inhibitors, polymyalgia rheumatica, giant cell arteritis, sarcoidosis, SLE, systemic sclerosis, osteoporosis, and glucocorticoid induced osteoporosis. Additionally, Dr. Levin has remained active in the world of academia by teaching as an Affiliate Assistant Professor at the University of South Florida. His commitment to continuing education is further displayed in his tireless research as the principal investigator in dozens of clinical trials involving rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, lower back pain, chronic pain, fibromyalgia, SLE & Sjogrens Syndrome.

Dr. Levin is board certified by both the National Board of Medical Examiners and the American Board of Internal Medicine, with a Subspecialty of Rheumatology. He is an active affiliate of Mease Hospitals, where he has worked on various quality assurance committees and served as both the Chairman of the Department of Internal Medicine and the Chairman of Rheumatology between the years 1990 and 2002. Currently, Dr. Levin is a Fellow Member in a number of medical societies, including the American College of Rheumatology and the American College of Physicians. He is on the Board of Directors of the Coalition of State Rheumatology organizations. He is also the President of the Alliance For Transparent & Affordable Prescriptions fighting for decreasing drug costs and providing access to necessary medications for our patients.Dr. Levin is well known in the Tampa Bay area for providing the highest standards of patient care.

Rodney Daniel, MD

 

Dr. Daniel joined Bay Area Rheumatology in June 2018.  He provides rheumatology care to Pinellas, Pasco and East Hillsborough Counties.  Dr. Daniel enjoys treating all rheumatologic diseases including, but not limited to, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, lupus, fibromyalgia, osteoporosis, and psoriatic arthritis.  More importantly, he values educating his patients on the disease process and therapeutic options.  Dr. Daniel consistently incorporates patient preference, cost, and practicalty in treatment decisions.  Bay Area Rheumatology accepts many commercial and Medicare insurance plans.

 

Dr. Rodney Daniel was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, 8 years after his parents left Trinidad and Tobago.  Dr. Daniel spent his formative years in Miami, Florida where he completed high school.  He later obtained a bachelor of science in biology with a minor in chemistry at Florida International University, graduating cum laude.  After college, Dr. Daniel matriculated into the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.  He transitioned to the Jackson Memorial and Miami Veteran's Hospitals for Internal Medicine Residency and was recognized as the Paff Outstanding Resident Teacher in his final year of training.  Dr. Daniel pursued his rheumatology fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina and simultaneously obtained a Masters Degree in Clinical Research. Dr. Daniel has practiced rheumatology in various sectors including academic, multi-specialty, and single specialty settings.

He is an active member in the Arthritis Foundation, a national non-profit organization leading the fight to cure arthritis. Dr. Daniel is the Assistant Program Director for Bayonet Pointe Rheumatology Fellowship Training Program and is an Assistant Professor at the HCA Healthcare/USF Morsani College of Medicine. He has participated in multiple clinical trials. 

He is married with two children.  He enjoys the outdoors and sports.

Dr Le

Christopher Le, DO

 

Dr. Christopher Le was born and raised in Texas, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with a minor in Biology at the University of Texas at Austin. He received his medical degree from William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He then completed his residency in Internal Medicine at CarePoint Health Bayonne Medical Center in Bayonne, NJ. There he was selected and served as Chief Resident in his final year. He completed his fellowship in Rheumatology at HCA Healthcare/USF Morsani College of Medicine GME: Largo Medical Center Program and served as Chief Fellow as well. Dr. Le enjoys treating all areas of rheumatology including, but not limited to, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, psoriatic arthritis, vasculitis, and osteoporosis.

 

When not working, Dr. Le enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, travelling, cooking, and various sports including football, basketball, and tennis.

Karen Duclon, MSN, APRN-BC

 

Karen Duclon MSN, APRN is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She is a Registered Nurse with years of training and experience in Emergency and Critical Care nursing. Karen earned a Diploma in Nursing from Henry Ford Hospital School of Nursing in Detroit, Michigan. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Care Administration from St. Leo University and a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Tampa. 

Karen has years of Rheumatology experience. She has completed extensive training in Rheumatology through the Advanced Rheumatology Course offered by the Association of Health Care Professionals (ARHP), part of the American College of Rheumatology. She has worked in a volunteer capacity for the ARHP and several other organizations. 

Karen brings a unique approach to the care of her patients. Karen believes that optimizing patient quality- of- life, listening and developing relationships are as important as appropriate care for specific medical needs.

Lisa Beachy, MSN, APRN, FNP-C

 

Lisa has lived in the beautiful Tampa Bay Area for over 40 years. She completed her undergraduate nursing degree at the University of Florida and graduated with highest honors as a Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of Tampa. The Rheumatology Nurses Society awarded her with the Anne Strong scholarship and the Tampa Bay Advanced Practice Nurses Council awarded her with their academic scholarship as well. She was inducted into the prestigious Phi Kappa Phi honor society as well as the Sigma Theta Tau honor society. Currently, she is a member of the Rheumatology Nurses Society, the Florida Society of Rheumatology, and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.

She loves exploring gardens, beaches, antique shops, and hiking trails with her husband of 20 years and two teenage boys. She is very much looking forward to meeting you and hearing your story as well.
